  1. A data mart is simply a relational database that is built to support a specific set of business needs. These databases usually access data from the corporate information warehouse or from other data marts.Data marts are usually smaller than the information warehouse and are focused on a specific business problem. Many data marts access only a subset of the information stored in the corporate warehouse.
